Markets have run-up substantially since the U.S. elections last November. As a result, price-to-earnings valuations of equities appear increasingly extended of late.

Potentially offsetting a pricey market is the current reflationary environment coupled with stronger underlying global growth. The Federal Reserve is on a hiking cycle, and expectations are growing that other central banks will begin to tighten policy late this year or early next year.

However, there are emerging indications that the current cycle may be running out of steam.

Hence, amid stretched valuations, we would caution investors against piling concentrated bets into stocks alone. A better strategy would be to stay diversified across multiple asset classes and regional allocations, providing exposure to potential market upside whilst managing downside risks.

Why we like the fund

  • The fund is diversified across multiple asset classes and regional allocations. It is focused on maintaining and improving the stability of the overall portfolio, hence ensuring a lower drawdown in volatile markets.
  • The flexibility to adjust allocations actively across regional exposures and asset classes as and when opportunities arise allows the fund to navigate choppy terrain with greater confidence and lower volatility.
  • This investment strategy enables the fund to deliver income and moderate capital growth over the medium to longer term.
  • In addition, the fund targets a potential monthly pay-out of about 5 per cent per annum.
